Weaning means stopping the young one from drinking mother’s milk and slowly shifting it to fodder, concentrate, and clean water. Do it gradually, not suddenly. If you stop milk at once, the young animal can get loose motions, weakness, and poor growth. Also keep the mother’s udder checked, because sudden milk stopping can cause swelling or mastitis. Give clean water and soft green fodder first, then slowly increase dry fodder and feed.
