Cow mastitis

This is mastitis, and the affected quarter must be saved quickly. First, milk out the bad quarter separately every four hours and throw that milk away. Keep the cow on clean, dry bedding, wash your hands before milking, and milk the healthy quarters first, then the infected quarter last. If the udder is hot and swollen, keep a cold wet cloth on it for some time. Do not massage hard and do not apply heat in the first twenty four hours. Give plenty of clean drinking water and keep her away from the common feeding area for now. If milk has clots, blood, yellow water, or the quarter is painful, your vet will usually need to give antibiotic treatment after checking the udder. Book a Pashu Vet on Pashushala today for examination. If she has high fever, stops eating, becomes dull, or milk suddenly stops, call one nine six two or the nearest government veterinary dispensary urgently. If ignored beyond forty eight hours, one quarter can dry permanently and the milk loss can be thirty thousand to sixty thousand rupees in one lactation. Consult a veterinarian before administering any medicine or treatment.
