Cow milk is salty, treatment

Milk salinity usually points to mastitis or a udder infection. First, stop using that milk for sale or drinking. Check the udder for heat, pain, swelling, or clots in the milk. Milk the affected quarter gently and keep the teat and udder clean. Give clean water, good green fodder, and a mineral mix. If the cow has fever, reduced appetite, or one quarter is hard, she needs treatment today because untreated mastitis can cut milk fast and may dry the quarter permanently. Consult a veterinarian before administering any medicine or treatment.
