Gir

Gir is a good dairy cow for your area. First, buy only after milking her in your presence. Check all four quarters with a CMT test. Ask which month of lactation she is in, because yield drops fast after month seven. For a healthy Gir, look for a calm animal with a clean udder and good body condition. If the price is above fifty thousand rupees, take a Pashumitra or vet with you.
