Buy only a dairy cow. In Pune, look for Sahiwal, Gir, HF cross, or Jersey cross. Milk her in your presence before paying. Do a CMT test on all four quarters. Ask which month of lactation she is in, and avoid cows above seven years. Check body condition, last calving date, and FMD and HS vaccination proof. For any cow above ₹50,000, take a Pashumitra or vet with you before payment.
