How do I check a cow before buying?

Before paying for any cow, run every step carefully. Milk the cow in your presence and see the output from each quarter. Do a CMT test on all four quarters. Ask which month of lactation she is in, because a cow in month seven or eight will soon drop yield. Check age, body condition, last calving date, and vaccination record for FMD and HS. If the deal is above fifty thousand rupees, take a Pashumitra or vet with you before payment. Treating a bad purchase later costs far more than checking properly now.
