How do I check milk and udder before buying?
Check the cow in your presence first. Milk each quarter separately and see the flow. Then do a CMT test on all four quarters; purple or violet means hidden mastitis. Feel the udder for heat, pain, hard spots, or uneven size. Watch the teats for cracks or injury. Also ask the lactation month, last calving date, and vaccination record. If the cow is above fifty thousand rupees, take a Pashumitra or vet with you before paying.
