How do I know if she is in heat?
Heat signs are easy to spot if you watch closely. She will become restless, bellow more, sniff other animals, mount others, and stand still when another animal mounts her. You may also see clear mucus from the vulva, a swollen vulva, less feed intake, and tail raising. The best time to check is early morning and late evening. If she shows heat, breed her around twelve hours after standing heat starts. If she is not showing heat for many weeks, then her feeding, body condition, or a silent heat problem should be checked.
