I have no experince in animal farming but i plan to start a dairy farm, with a budget of 1.5 lacs, help

Start small with two good dairy cows, not a big herd. With one point five lakh rupees, your safest start is Sahiwal, Gir, HF cross, or Jersey cross, depending on your climate and feed supply. In hot areas, Sahiwal or Gir is safer. If you want higher milk and can manage better feed and shed, HF cross or Jersey cross can work. Keep some money aside for shed, trough, water, chaffing, and at least one month of feed. Do not spend the full budget only on buying animals. Before purchase, milk the cow in your presence, do a CMT test on all four quarters, ask which month of lactation she is in, and check age and body condition. If the animal costs above fifty thousand rupees, take a Pashumitra or vet with you. If you want fifteen liters or more every day, one cow will not give that steadily all year. You will need two cows with staggered calvings. Treat this as a business first, not just animal buying. A small, well-managed start is better than a big risky one.
