I want a high milk cow for my dairy.
For a high milk dairy cow, go for HF cross, Jersey cross, Sahiwal, or Gir. HF cross gives the highest volume, while Sahiwal and Gir are tougher in Indian heat. If you want fifteen liters or more every day, remember one cow gives peak milk only in months two to three after calving, then it slowly drops, so two cows with staggered calvings are better for steady supply. Before paying, milk her in your presence, do a CMT test on all four quarters, ask which month of lactation she is in, and take a Pashumitra or vet if the price is above fifty thousand rupees.
