For a cow above twenty liters a day, HF cross or Jersey cross is the practical choice. If you want even higher yield and can manage strong feed, cooling, and clean housing, Holstein Friesian can also work. In Indian conditions, a single cow gives peak milk mainly in the second to third month after calving, then the yield slowly falls, so for steady twenty liters plus every day, keep two cows with staggered calvings. Before paying, milk the cow in your presence, do a CMT test on all four quarters, ask which month of lactation she is in, and check body condition and age. If the animal is above fifty thousand rupees, take a Pashumitra or vet along. Treat this as a dairy purchase, not just a breed purchase, because feed and udder health decide the real milk in the bucket.
