Punganur is a small indigenous dairy cow, but for regular milk business I would still prefer Sahiwal, Gir, HF cross, or Jersey cross. Punganur gives low milk, so buy it only if you want a small, hardy cow for limited household milk. Before paying, milk her in your presence, do a CMT test on all four quarters, ask which month of lactation she is in, and check age and body condition. If the price is above fifty thousand rupees, take a Pashumitra or vet with you.
