Gir cow is a good dairy choice. For a healthy milker, check milk in your presence, do a CMT test on all four quarters, ask the lactation month, and verify age and body condition. Prefer a cow in second or third lactation, not above seven years. If the price is above fifty thousand rupees, take a Pashumitra or vet with you before paying.
