Gir cow is a solid dairy choice for your area. For buying, milk the cow in your presence, do a CMT test on all four quarters, check the lactation month, and verify age and body condition. If you are spending above fifty thousand rupees, take a Pashumitra or vet along. Gir usually gives six to ten liters a day, and good animals can do better with proper feed.
