Murrah cough

Murrah calf cough is usually a chest infection or irritation from dust and damp bedding. Keep the calf in a dry, airy place, away from cold wind and wet floor. Give warm clean water, and if it is still drinking, offer milk in small feeds. Clean the nose gently if there is discharge. Do not give any medicine on your own. If there is fever, fast breathing, or the calf is under three months old, get veterinary help within twenty-four hours because young calves can worsen quickly. Treating it early is far cheaper than losing milk growth and future production.
