My cow milk test is salty

Salty milk usually points to mastitis or an udder infection. First check the udder for heat, swelling, pain, or clots in the milk. Milk each quarter separately and see if only one quarter is affected. Do a CMT test on all four quarters if you can. Keep that milk separate and do not mix it with the rest. Give clean water, good fodder, and keep the udder very clean before and after milking. If there is fever, hard swelling, or the milk turns watery or clotted, she needs treatment today. Treating this now costs far less than the permanent milk loss if left untreated.
