My three year buffalo calf is not coming in properly heat
Silent heat or weak heat is likely here. First keep her body condition steady, not too thin and not too fat. Give good green fodder, enough dry fodder, clean water, and a mineral mixture every day. Watch her closely in the early morning and late evening for standing to be mounted, mucus from the vulva, restlessness, and tail raising. If she is in milk, poor heat often comes from low nutrition, uterine trouble after calving, or a silent cycle. If she has not shown proper heat for two to three cycles, she needs a vet check for ovaries and uterus. In buffaloes, heat signs are often weak and easy to miss, so timing matters. Treating the cause now is much cheaper than losing one breeding season and delaying the next calf. Consult a veterinarian before administering any medicine or treatment.
