Pls share check list and other reports for selecting a gir cow
Gir cow is a good dairy choice if you want hardy milk production and lower heat stress. For buying, first milk the cow in your presence and see the actual yield. Then do a CMT test on all four quarters, because hidden mastitis can cut milk fast. Ask clearly which month of lactation she is in; a cow in month seven or eight will soon drop yield. Check body condition, udder shape, teat size, legs, and whether she walks freely. Also verify age, pregnancy status, and previous calving record. For a Gir, look for a calm animal with a healthy reddish coat, strong legs, and a clean udder. If the price is above ₹fifty thousand, take a Pashumitra or vet with you. If you want, I can also help you shortlist a good Gir by milk yield, age, and budget. Consult a veterinarian before administering any medicine or treatment.
