Gir cow is a good dairy choice. For sale, check milk in your presence, do a CMT test on all four quarters, ask the lactation month, and verify age and body condition. A cow in month seven or eight can drop fast in milk. For a Gir, expect roughly six to ten liters a day, and well managed animals may give up to twelve to fifteen liters. If the price is above fifty thousand rupees, take a Pashumitra or vet with you.
