Want to start sheep farming
Sheep farming can work well if you start with the right purpose and breed. For mutton, Nellore, Bannur, Deccani, Madras Red, or Malpura are good choices. For wool, Chokla, Magra, or Kashmir Merino are better. If you want both wool and meat, Marwari or Patanwadi fit well. Keep a clean lambing pen ready, about one point five to two square metres for each ewe and her lambs for the first three to five days after birth. That helps bonding and protects the lamb. The National Livestock Mission can support breed improvement, shed work, and feed inputs through the State Animal Husbandry Department. Start with healthy stock, good drainage, and regular deworming and vaccination planning. If you want, I can help you choose the best breed for your district and budget.
