What age and breed should I choose?
For a dairy buffalo, choose Murrah first. It gives the best milk, usually eight to fourteen liters a day, and good animals can give sixteen to twenty liters. Nili-Ravi and Jaffarabadi are also strong dairy choices. Buy a heifer that is around three to four years old and close to first calving, with a healthy udder, calm nature, and no lameness. In Fazilka, Murrah suits the area very well. If you are buying a calf, take only a strong female from a known dairy line, not a weak or stunted one. A good animal now saves you years of low milk and poor breeding later.
