What age cow is best for dairy?

For dairy, a young cow in her first or second lactation is best. She should be around three to five years old, healthy, and already giving milk. Avoid very old cows, because yield and fertility drop. If you want steady milk, check her current lactation stage too, because month two to three gives the best yield and month seven to eight falls fast. For a precise choice, book a Pashu Vet on Pashushala or call the Kisan Call Centre on eighteen hundred one eight zero one five five one.
