CMT means California Mastitis Test. It checks hidden mastitis in the udder. If the milk turns purple or thick in any quarter, that quarter has infection. A clean result stays smooth and normal. Do the test on all four quarters before buying or selling. If one quarter is positive, treat that cow first and do not mix that milk with the rest.
