Which cow breed is best for startup business
For a startup dairy business, crossbred cows are usually the safest choice because they give good milk and still handle Indian conditions reasonably well. If your area is hot, Sahiwal and Gir are very strong choices. If you want higher milk and can manage better feed and cooling, HF cross or Jersey cross is often the practical option. For a new farm, start with a small group and buy only after checking milk in your presence, doing a CMT test on all four quarters, asking the lactation month, and taking a Pashumitra or vet if the cow costs above fifty thousand rupees. If you want consistent fifteen litres or more every day, do not depend on one cow alone; keep two cows with staggered calvings. That way milk supply stays steady.
